Yes, you read the title correctly. And yes, you have to leave NYC for such a ridiculous deal. Restaurant X is part of Peter Xavier Kelly’s group, who is the Danny Meyer of the Hudson Valley. His first two places, Xavier’s and Freelance Cafe, are in Piermont, and X is further up the road in this beautiful old house overlooking a pond. The leaves were changing on our ride up from the city, it was quite lovely, but not as lovely as the marathon meal that ensued… The Sunday Brunch here is like a deconstructed buffet with one seating at 1 pm, and each course is brought to the table individually by a large staff of servers. They are as follows:

Fresh Fruit and an array of Breads
Cesaer Salad
Roasted Vegetables with Fresh Mozzarella
Bagel, Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese
Classic Eggs Benedict
Mushroom Ravioli
Tortellini in Cream Sauce
Bowtie Pasta with Toasted Hazelnuts
Pork Cutlet with Fried Apples
Sliced Ham with Mustard Sauce
Tuna with Nicoise Salad
Kielbasa with Braised Cabbage
Roasted Chicken with Orzo
Duck with Cous Cous
Crispy Salmon with Mustard Sauce
Shrimp Scampi
Seared Scallops
Coconut Shrimp
Roast Beef and Potatoes
Lamb and String Beans
+
4 Desserts:Panna Cotta, Creme Brule, Molten Chocolate Cake, Berry Trifle

Oh, plus unlimited champagne or mimosas

The quality was pretty good too. I mean each course wasn’t mind-blowing and truly innovative, but eaten together, it was a culinary orgy. If you have transportation, a beautiful Sunday to kill,  and haven’t eaten in 3 days, take a trip update and have a feast for 2 for under $100!
